Breaking all past records to bring Eid smiles to the faces of the country’s underprivileged and disaster-affected people, the social welfare organization Al Quran and Sunnah Foundation has completed the country’s largest-ever Qurbani project. This year, a total of 1,665 animals were sacrificed across 873 designated spots in 1,371 unions under 378 upazilas nationwide. The meat of these sacrificed animals was delivered to the homes of approximately 53,000 needy, distressed, and malnourished people.

A total of 358 cows and 1,307 goats were sacrificed in this year’s project. Special priority was given to meeting the nutritional needs of people in various regions that are lagging behind due to geographical location and other factors, as well as those recently hit by disasters. This gift was delivered to the truly needy people in remote areas in a completely systematic manner and in compliance with health guidelines.

As always, the Al Quran and Sunnah Foundation ensured the utmost transparency and accountability regarding the trust of the Qurbani donors. Prior to the sacrifice, each donor was informed via email of their animal’s specific number and the location where the Qurbani would take place. Following the completion of the sacrifice, photos of their live animal with a banner, photos of the piled meat, and photos of the local meat distribution were sent to each donor via email.

With the tireless efforts of thousands of volunteers, this year’s project came to a successful conclusion by smoothly delivering this Qurbani gift to the doorsteps of underprivileged people in remote areas.

The 3rd Imams’ Training by the  Al Quran and Sunnah Foundation has been successfully completed with the participation of selected Imams and Khatibs from the Rajshahi division. The five-day training took place from July 4 to July 8 at the auditorium of the foundation’s main office.

In this program, 97 Imams serving in various mosques across the Rajshahi division successfully completed the training. Certificates were distributed among the successful participants at the end of the training. All expenses related to the trainees’ accommodation, food, travel, and training were borne by the Al Quran and Sunnah Foundation.

The ‘Imams’ Training Workshop’ is a regular activity of the Al Quran and Sunnah Foundation. Its primary objective is to build an ideal society and make religious Dawah more effective by developing skilled, trained, and contemporary Imams.

So far, the Imams’ training for a total of three divisions, including Rangpur and Rajshahi, has been completed. This regular workshop will be conducted gradually with selected Imams and Khatibs from every division of the country, InshaAllah.

Imams are the most respected personalities in society and are directly connected with the general public. If they play a role in building society in a planned manner with a proper understanding of modern world challenges, establishing a corruption-free, honest, and moral society is only a matter of time.

With this goal in mind, training was provided on more than 20 important and timely topics to make the Imams aware of and skilled in handling modern world challenges. These included Leadership and Personal Development, Dawah and Psychology, Emotional Intelligence, Strategies to Make Mosques Productive, Use of Modern Tools in Dawah and Fact-Checking, Public Speaking, Effective Communication and Community Development, Time Management, LGBTQ and Gender-Related Fitnah: Severity and Actions to take, and the Necessity of Daily Physical Exercise.

The training sessions were conducted by skilled and experienced trainers specializing in the respective fields.

A severe flood hit Chittagong in the first week of this month. Extensive areas in Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, and Bandarban were submerged, affecting thousands of families. As always,  Al Quran and Sunnah Foundation stepped forward with all its strength to support the affected people.

Today, 21 July, the implementation of emergency relief and rehabilitation activities has been successfully completed. Under this initiative, a total of 143 tonnes of relief materials were distributed among 10,000 flood-affected families across 8 upazilas in Greater Chittagong. The distributed relief items included 80 tonnes of rice, 16 tonnes of lentils, 20 tonnes of dates, 8 tonnes of oil, 5 tonnes of salt, 4 tonnes of flattened rice (chira), 2 tonnes of puffed rice (muri), and 8 tonnes of pure drinking water.

The relief was distributed across 8 affected upazilas: Banshkhali, Satkania, Pekua, Chakaria, Lohagara, Chandanaish, and Bandarban Sadar and Lama upazilas of Bandarban district.

Additionally,  Al Quran and Sunnah Foundation took a special initiative to alleviate the suffering of flood-affected cattle rearers. A total of 50 tonnes of cattle feed was distributed among 3,000 cattle rearers in the same 8 affected upazilas.

With the sincere cooperation of donors, the tireless hard work of volunteers, and the overall efforts of the Foundation’s staff, the ‘Disaster Relief Operation-2026’ was completed very swiftly and successfully.

Following the completion of the relief operations, Al Quran and Sunnah Foundation is now focusing on the rehabilitation of the affected people. The screening process is currently underway to build two-room brick houses for 300 helpless families who lost their homes in the flood. After the verification, new homes will be constructed for the selected families under the rehabilitation project, InshaAllah.
